Cleveland Kong: Bringing Professional Volleyball to the Heart of Cleveland

Todd Coughlin, Owner and General Manager of Cleveland Kong, is excited to announce the launch of the new professional men's volleyball team in the Volleyball League of America. Cleveland Kong, founded in 2021, has quickly made a name for themselves in the league and are dedicated to bringing the excitement of professional volleyball to the Cleveland community.

Cleveland Kong's mission is to grow the sport of volleyball in the Cleveland community by providing fans with an opportunity to experience the highest level of professional play. As the only professional men's volleyball team in the area, Cleveland Kong are committed to promoting the growth of volleyball in the community, inspiring future generations of players, and representing their city with pride both on and off the court.

After a year of hard work and dedication, Cleveland Kong has rebranded themselves and emerged victorious as the East Division Cup Champions on April 10, 2022. This incredible achievement came just a month after the team finished last out of 13 teams in the central division cup, proving that the Cleveland Kong players have what it takes to come back strong and win.

With a talented and dedicated team, Cleveland Kong is committed to promoting the growth of volleyball in the community and representing their city with pride both on and off the court. Members of the team include:

Sean Martin, a member of the 2011 NCAA Division I National Championship Team at Ohio State University, is one of the key players on the Cleveland Kong team. As a skilled and experienced player, Martin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the court, helping the team to compete at the highest level.

Kyle Mars, the current Head Coach of the Baldwin Wallace University Men's volleyball team and former player at Penn State University, is another standout player on the Cleveland Kong team. With years of experience both as a player and a coach, Mars is a valuable asset to the team, bringing leadership and strategy to every game.

Anthony Winter, the current assistant coach of the Baldwin Wallace University Women's team and former player at Quincy University, Class of 2018, is another talented member of the Cleveland Kong team. With a passion for the game and a deep understanding of strategy and technique, Winter helps to drive the team's success both on and off the court.

Alex Carpenter, a member of the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championship Team at Stevens Institute of Technology, is another key player on the Cleveland Kong team. With a strong track record of success both in college and in the Volleyball League of America, Carpenter brings a high level of skill and expertise to the court, helping to drive the team's success.

Together, along with many other talented and dedicated players have helped Cleveland Kong to emerge victorious as the 2022 East Division Cup Champions.
