VLA Central Cup Preview

Tune in this weekend to watch the Cleveland Kong face off at the Central Division Cup.

Volleyball fans, get ready for an exciting weekend as the Cleveland Kong professional men's volleyball team is gearing up to compete in the Central Cup tournament. Fresh off their recent victories, the Kong are set to take on other top teams from the region at the College of Dupage in Chicago, Illinois.

The Kong have been working hard in preparation for this tournament and are confident in their abilities to perform well. Their recent tri-match against the Steel City Surge and the Niagara Frontiersmen resulted in two wins, with the Kong beating both teams three sets to one. Outside Hitter, Phil Swartz, who led the team to victory against Steel City with 21 Kills and 7 Blocks, said “Kong performed absolutely phenomenal. Every single point, rally, and set was fought hard by the entire squad. I’m looking forward to seeing how some of the younger guys perform, especially after learning from the veterans.”

The Central Cup tournament will take place over two days, starting on Saturday, March 4th, and concluding on Sunday, March 5th. Kong are ranked #2 in their pool and will face off against their inter-state rival, #3 Columbus Crimson. Games can be streamed on the VLA Youtube page which can be found HERE.
